Diet Television Tip: Dieting The L.A. Way Means Buying Supplements

If you think that in-person interaction and L.A. mystique will aid your weight loss efforts, consider the L.A. Weight Loss Diet, which stems from the L.A. Weight Loss centers that are scattered across the U.S. and internationally. No center near you? You can take part online, too.

But be warned: the L.A. Weight Loss Diet includes a line of supplements that are supposedly designed to accompany the weight loss plan, and you must purchase the supplements in order to participate. The plan is flexible in that it claims to focus on “regular everyday” meals based on foods you prepare at home, such as macaroni and cheese, or foods that you might regularly eat at a restaurant. But it’s vague about the nature of the meal plans and the supplements unless you sign up for the plan or visit a center.

Also, there is little information available about long-term weight loss maintenance, and whether you need to take the company’s special supplements indefinitely.

Still, if you are curious, the company does claim to offer free, no obligation consultations. For what it’s worth, the website offers up “success stories” from women who claim to have lost 41 pounds in 23 weeks, or who report similar short-term triumphs. But these stories say nothing about what exactly the women ate and how much, and whether they exercised, so this may be a diet to be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

DietTV.com has your best and full review for each diet plan with pictures of what you can/can't eat.
