Fast blood vessels reaction to fatty meals

Research confirmed what emergency doctors knew long ago: the probability of heart attack or stroke is increased after big fat meals. The matter is, soon after such a meal, so called gut reflexes send signals to the brain that most of the blood will be required soon for digestion. The body reacts by temporarily hardening the arteries to prevent spending the blood on other bodily functions. It also tries to make you sleepy so you move less. If, however, you fight back and force your body to activities other than digestion, it can be dangerous. There is a solution to this problem. Research showed that eating large salad made of dark green vegetables and tomatoes and drinking some red wine can neutralize the harmful effect of fat food. However, the best protective measure turned out to be a short bout of high-intensity exercise about 30 minutes before the meal.
