The Sonoma diet is based on the Mediterranean diet of olive oil, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables, whole grains. Plus, though most diets ban wine, on Sonoma wine plays an important role in the weight loss plan. Why?

There are chemicals found in red wine called antioxidants. Red wines contain several antioxidants beneficial to good health. However, as is true for drinking any alcohol-containing beverage, moderation is key. Drinking one glass a day for women and up to two glasses a day for men may decrease the risk of heart disease, cancer and stroke.
